laurie and denise

Laurie is an architect and wants to make sure she and her wife stay healthy as they think about their financial future together.

My wife and I decided it was time to get dental coverage. We’ve always kept our teeth healthy with regular cleanings that we paid for out of pocket, but we’re worried that if something comes up, we won’t be covered. Just last month, my dentist warned me that I might need some extra care within the next few years. Luckily, I found Delta Dental of Washington’s Ascent Plan that has increasing dental benefits and annual maximum to help cover our major dental treatments in the near future.

armand

Armand just turned 50 and is experiencing tooth pain that needs immediate treatment.

I have always taken good care of myself. I eat right, get eight hours of sleep, get my steps in, and drink plenty of water, but I never even thought about dental care. Now I’m experiencing excruciating tooth pain which requires a procedure that could cost me quite a bit out of pocket. The pain prevents me from focusing on my work and daily life. I need affordable dental coverage without a waiting period like Delta Dental of Washington’s Ascent Plan.

What does an annual maximum for dental mean and why should I care if it increases over time?
Your annual maximum (also known as a plan year maximum) is the most Delta Dental of Washington will pay for covered care in a year. After you hit that amount, you’ll need to pay for any other dental services yourself until your benefits reset. Thus, with an annual maximum that increases over time, you will have greater coverage and less out of pocket expenses for the first two years you renew. Learn more about annual maximums here.

For the Ascent Plan only, the annual maximum starts at $1000 per person. If you remain in the same policy for a second year, the annual maximum increases to $1250 per person. If you renew the policy for a third consecutive year, the annual maximum increases to $1500 per person.
What dental benefits increase under the Ascent Plan?
Under the Ascent Plan, the annual maximum (plan year maximum), fillings coverage, and periodontal maintenance (gum disease treatment) coverage increase over the first two years that you renew your plan. Please see the plan chart for more details.
