Smile with PRIDE: Pride in Seattle

We joined with the LGBTQIA+ community and our sponsors, Seattle Pride organization to celebrate Galactic Love! in downtown Seattle on Sunday, June 25th.

The annual Seattle Pride Parade is a free, fun, community-wide celebration advancing awareness of LGBTQIA+ issues and promoting mutual respect and equal human rights for all. It marcher along 4th Ave with some of Seattle’s most beloved community groups, civic leaders, brands, and businesses. The Parade is all about inclusiveness – so all ages gather along the route to watch the festivities. It’s also the largest parade in Washington, with 300,000+ parade goers and 250+ participating groups. In its 49th year of celebration, the Seattle Pride® Parade is an opportunity to commemorate the past, celebrate new wins for equality, and get encouragement for the work yet to come.

Delta Dental of Washington has sponsored the Pride Parade since 2017 and its goals to help create unity, honor diversity, and support equal human rights for all. Our commitment to the LGBTQIA+ community extends year-round, including efforts to connect folks to LGBTQIA+ friendly dentists and sponsoring continuing education for dentists on culturally-appropriate care.

This year we distributed “Pride Kits” to our vendors, which included pronoun pins for their office staff and a window cling that shows support and provides a safe space to get high quality care. It’s all part of our mission to reduce barriers to care so that everyone can enjoy good oral health with no one left behind.
