Seattle Kraken

We are proud to partner with Seattle’s NHL team, the Seattle Kraken, to raise awareness about oral health in children and how an active, healthy lifestyle can lead to lifelong health.

As part of the partnership, centered on bringing oral health education and knowledge of healthy active lifestyles to children throughout the Puget Sound area and beyond, Delta Dental and the Seattle Kraken have established the new Grins & Goals program.

The program brings The Tooth Fairy Experience – Delta Dental’s youth dental health education program – to partner Title I schools for a day of oral health education and fun. Students learn all about how an active lifestyle and taking care of their teeth can lead to healthy smiles! At the end of each presentation students are given a brushing and flossing chart to help practice what they learned. Students take home their chart and fill it out when they have brushed their teeth for two minutes twice a day and flossed once a day. The school with the most completed brushing and flossing charts turned in, wins a Free Skate Day at the Kraken Community IcePlex hosted by the Kraken and Delta Dental!

The first Free Skate Day event, in 2022, was a big hit as Delta Dental and the Kraken welcomed nearly 150 K-2 students who completed their charts to skate the day away with the Tooth Fairy. Guests also had a chance to take part in storybook readings, flossing activities and other fun projects.

This partnership also takes flight during Kraken games at Climate Pledge Arena. During the wheel of cameras, spectators are given the chance to flash their pearly whites on the twins during the Delta Dental Smile Cam, or they can test their dance moves during the Delta Dental Floss Cam. During non-Kraken events, smiles and information about Delta Dental programs can be seen around the LED ribbon in the arena.
