Back-to-school Tips from the Tooth Fairy Experience

August 18, 2025

It’s time to head back to school and our Tooth Fairies at Tooth Fairy Experience are sharing their best tips, tricks, and a little magic to bring dental fun and education students across the state of Washington!

The Tooth Fairy experience website has FREE resources for educators, parents, and providers. Our fun, downloadable materials will delight children while educating them about dental health and wellness…with just a touch of magic and a lot of fun!

See below for some tips from the Tooth Fairies:

  • Request a letter from the Tooth Fairy: To help encourage your children to keep their smiles healthy, the Tooth Fairy will send them a letter. Residents of Washington state can request a letter from the Tooth Fairy when their child needs either kudos or support.
  • Phone the Tooth Fairy: Call the Tooth Fairy Hotline at 1-833-FAIRY-WA (1-833-324-7992) and select one of four pre-recorded messages from the tooth fairies! Please note that the Tooth Fairy hotline only accepts phone calls from Washington state area codes.
  • Downloadable fun materials: Our downloadable materials include three storybooks about caring for your mouth and body, lesson plans, activity sheets, coloring pages, videos and more!
    • We also have FREE materials that we ship to dental offices. Tell your dentist to visit our dentist resource page just for them so your kids can access our coloring and activity books at your local dentist’s office!
  • Pack a lunch that powers both brain and smile: Healthy snacks fuel brains during class! Some of our favorite tooth-friendly foods are: veggies, sandwiches with protein and some crunchy lettuce, fruits like apples or bananas, eggs, and yogurt with berries! And for the best drink choice? Try to avoid high-sugar drinks! We personally love water or plain milk!
  • Replace Your Toothbrush: Toothbrushes should be replaced every three months or after an illness or infection. Look for soft-bristled toothbrushes. Make sure to brush for 2 minutes, 2 times a day, and floss before bedtime!
  • Schedule a Dental Check-Up: Back-to-school is a busy time but getting your kid’s next dental visit on the calendar is important! By having your kid visit the dentist twice a year, you can help keep their smiles happy and healthy!

We’re here to help keep smiles on everyone’s faces as school starts back up. Keep smiling!
