Delta Dental of Washington Commits $200,000 to Support Eastern Washington Wildfire Response and Recovery

SEATTLE - Delta Dental of Washington announced today it will commit $200,000 to support wildfire response and recovery efforts in Eastern Washington.

The company will provide $100,000 to four Spokane organizations, with each getting $25,000. An additional $50,000 will support wildfire response and recovery efforts in Northeast Washington, with a focus on communities in and around Colville, Kettle Falls and the Colville tribal communities. Delta Dental is also offering $50,000 in matching funds to help amplify employee giving.

The fires across Eastern Washington have destroyed hundreds of homes and structures, displaced thousands of residents and placed significant demands on local emergency response and community organizations.

“The flames might be contained, but recovery from these wildfires is far from over,” said Mark Mitchke, CEO of Delta Dental of Washington. “We have about 400 employees who live and work in Spokane and Colville, and these communities are part of our Delta Dental family. We want to stand alongside our employees and their neighbors by supporting organizations who are providing critical assistance and recovery efforts.”

The $100,000 Spokane commitment will support organizations providing a range of critical services:

The $50,000 commitment to Northeast Washington focused on communities in and around Colville, Kettle Falls and the Colville tribal communities, will support organizations including Rural Resources and the American Red Cross.

“We are grateful to the first responders, nonprofits, tribal communities, volunteers and local organizations working tirelessly to help their neighbors,” said Mitchke. “And we are proud of our employees who have asked how they might help contribute, which is why we are matching their donations, dollar-for-dollar up to $50,000. We hope this support provides meaningful help as these communities begin to rebuild.”

Along with funding, Delta Dental of Washington is also sending along 1,000 dental health kits, containing toothbrushes and dental floss, to help displaced families.
