At Delta Dental of Washington, our mission emphasizes removing barriers to care and focuses on opportunities to promote oral health equity across Washington state. Achieving our vision, that all people can enjoy good oral and overall health with no one left behind, is not possible without acknowledging the oral healthcare inequities that exist in our state for Black communities and individuals.
In 2020, we committed to support the pursuit of racial equity in Washington state by joining Washington Employers for Racial Equity (WERE). As a part of the WERE coalition, we will learn from community members and business leaders, participate in and analyze research, understand and advocate for public policies that advance racial equity, and make progress on realizing our vision of a healthier Washington where all have access to a healthy smile. We are passionate about our partnership with WERE and look forward to progressing on our diversity, equity, and inclusion goals both within our organization and within the healthcare systems of Washington state.
