At Delta Dental of Washington, we believe that all people deserve a healthy smile. As a part of this commitment, we know that we need to take action to reduce barriers to care seen across Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) communities in Washington state. This action looks differently across many programs, and many times it means we intentionally give to programs that support our vision while and organizations that have a lived and in-depth knowledge of the challenges faced by these communities.
That’s why we’ve committed $25,000 per year for the next three years to the Fund for Inclusive Recovery. This fund, administered by Seattle Foundation, will award millions of dollars each year to Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) led organizations across Washington state. All funds awarded support BIPOC organizations and communities in their efforts to drive meaningful systemic changes across Washington state
In April of 2022, the Seattle Foundation announced its first round of funding through the Fund for Inclusive Recovery. Overall, $12.6 million was awarded. You can learn more about how the funds were distributed on the Seattle Foundation website.
