Tooth Fairy Experience

Our program makes dental health education interactive and fun.

The Tooth Fairy Experience makes pediatric dental health education fun for kids. This statewide educational effort presented free by Delta Dental of Washington is intended to teach kids how to care for their smiles, reduce the incidence of tooth decay, and increase the number of kids who regularly visit the dentist.

The award-winning interactive program, designed for schoolkids in grades K-2, is presented in schools statewide by teachers (with free downloadable materials) or by the Tooth Fairy who visits classrooms (both virtually and in-person) to share messages about caring for your smile, the importance of baby teeth, and the role nutrition and healthy lifestyles play in oral health. In addition, the diverse team of tooth fairies travels the state delivering the presentations to children at libraries, museums, community centers, after-school programs, and other public places where kids gather. The program utilizes children’s storybooks, videos, dental health puppets and science experiments to engage children in caring for their smiles.

Since launching in late 2019, the program reaches an average of more than 1,500 kids each month -- and keeps them (and their parents) engaged year-round via the Tooth Fairy’s very own social media channels, hotline (1-800-FAIRYWA) and website (www.TheToothFairyExperience.com) which offers free downloadable home-use materials, videos and more, including personalized letters from the Tooth Fairy and a quarterly e-newsletter which parents can request for their kids.

The dentist and educator-reviewed program is endorsed by the Arcora Foundation and Washington Homeschool Organization and is developed in partnership with the School Nurse Organization of Washington and Washington State Dental Association.
