Tooth Fairy Jasmine and former Seattle Seahawk Doug Baldwin joined the United Way Kind County BBQ for an afternoon of fun and healthy smiles! On August 12th the Annual Community BBQ, organized by United Way of King County in partnership with Doug Baldwin, took place at the Renton Memorial Stadium. All proceeds from the event go to support youth through the Racial Equity Coalition’s after-school programming.
Delta Dental participated with a photo booth right on the football field. Tooth Fairy Jasmine took photos with kids and families in front of the magical tooth fairy headquarters backdrop. They made new friends while talking about healthy dental habits and handing out eco-friendly bamboo toothbrushes.
During the summer break it can be difficult for kids to remember to keep up with healthy dental habits. During photo time Tooth Fairy Jasmine talked to kids about proper brushing techniques and timing. As the day went on, they were able to talk to dozens of families about the Tooth Fairy Experience program and how we can visit kids’ schools to provide more in-depth presentations during the school year.
There was great local food, fun music, and games. Tooth Fairy Jasmine even spent some time with Doug Baldwin Jr. near the DJ booth.
The Tooth Fairy Experience was developed by Delta Dental of Washington in partnership with Arcora Foundation, School Nurse Organization of Washington and Washington State Dental Association – and is endorsed by the Washington Homeschool Organization.
Since its launch in 2019, as part of Delta Dental’s vision for a cavity-free Washington, the program has reached more than 55,000 school age kids. Its aim is to improve dental health habits at an early age, reduce the incidence of tooth decay and increase the number of kids who regularly visit the dentist.
