To support One Roof Foundation’s focus on community health, the Tooth Fairy landed, last Sunday, at an event to celebrate the opening of a new multi-sport court in Skyway Park.

As the philanthropic arm of the Seattle Kraken, One Roof Foundation built the new court to provide more opportunities to participate in sports and encourage healthy lifestyles around Puget Sound.

If you’re wondering why the Tooth Fairy was there, just remember how important a healthy mouth is to an overall healthy lifestyle.

Delta Dental of Washington sent our Tooth Fairy representatives to talk to the children and families present that regular brushing, flossing, and dental appointments is just as important to staying healthy as is playing sports and staying active.

The Tooth Fairy also participated in a game of 3-on-3 ball hockey and by giving away oral health kits to go along with the Kraken water bottles, mouth guards, and ball hockey sticks. Then, after the game, the Kraken’s mascot, Buoy, led the kids to Delta Dental of Washington’s booth to discuss the importance of taking care of your teeth with Tooth Fairy Jen. Along with “Toothy” the lion, Tooth Fairy Jen showed the children how to properly brush their teeth to encourage a bright, cavity-free smile!

“Thank you to Delta Dental, our great partner and for all they do for our region in support of oral health education,” said One Roof Foundation Executive Director Mari Horita during her welcoming remarks at the two-hour event.

Delta Dental of Washington is proud to be a community partner with organizations like One Roof Foundation and Seattle Kraken to promote healthy lifestyles across the state and to move one more step toward a cavity-free Washington.

“With the One Roof Foundation and the Seattle Kraken, I remember discussing this idea of ‘What can this partnership look like?’ and ‘How can we pull together?’ and that’s why we are here at this moment,” said Warren Jimenez, King County Parks Director. “We don’t do this work alone. We do this in partnership and that’s how we are able to realize and deliver on this important park we now have here in our community,” continued Jimenez in a speech as he thanked more than 250 attendees and kids aged 5-12 years old.

Delta Dental of Washington has partnered with One Roof Foundation and Seattle Kraken since its first NHL season began in 2021, with goals to continue additional community programs for area youth post season. Since its launch in 2019, as part of Delta Dental’s vision for a cavity-free Washington, the Tooth Fairy Experience aims to improve dental health habits at an early age, reduce the incidence of tooth decay and increase the number of kids who regularly visit the dentist.
