The Tooth Fairy & Buoy Host Skate Day!

For the fifth year in a row, the Tooth Fairy has teamed up with Delta Dental of Washington and the Seattle Kraken to sprinkle a little extra magic on oral health education across Washington state—and this year’s celebration was nothing short of enchanting.

On Saturday, March 21, students from four elementary schools across the Puget Sound region laced up their skates and hit the ice at Kraken Community Iceplex for a day filled with fun, laughter, and smiles. Joined by Seattle Kraken’s beloved mascot, Buoy, and a pair of real-life tooth fairies, the event brought together kindergarten through second-grade students and their families for an unforgettable experience that blended play with purpose.

But this special skate day was more than just a fun outing—it was a celebration of commitment. Since the start of the year, The Tooth Fairy Experience®—a free, school-based dental health education program presented by Delta Dental of Washington—has been visiting Seattle Kraken partner schools to share engaging lessons on oral health, good nutrition, and the importance of staying active. Through interactive presentations and hands-on learning, nearly 500 students discovered the power of healthy habits, from brushing and flossing to making smart food and beverage choices…and yes, that includes taking care of those all-important baby teeth, too.

Students from Cathcart Elementary in Snohomish, John Muir Elementary in Seattle, Fern Hill Elementary in Tacoma, and Kenmore Elementary in Kenmore earned their spot on the ice by completing week-long brushing and flossing charts, proving that consistency and care really do pay off.

At the Iceplex, the excitement was contagious. Tooth Fairy Jasmine and Tooth Fairy Jen glided across the rink, their signature green wings trailing behind them, as they skated alongside students. Buoy brought his signature energy to the rink, joining in on the Shot on Goal activity and sharing plenty of high-fives with kids and families alike.

Off the ice, Delta Dental of Washington kept the fun going with creative activities like tooth box decorating, coloring stations, and more, plus a selection of healthy snacks to keep everyone fueled and smiling.

Because when it comes to building healthy habits, a little magic can go a long way.
