Pride Month gave us countless reasons to celebrate this June as we joined LGBTQIA+ communities across the state for three incredible events: Seattle Pride in the Park, Snohomish Pride, Spokane Pride, and the Seattle Pride Parade. From glitter-covered fairy wings to rainbow toothbrushes and joyful conversations, each celebration reminded us that creating healthier communities starts with showing up, supporting one another, and making everyone feel welcome.
PRIDE IN THE PARK
Our Pride celebrations began on June 6 at Seattle Pride's Pride in the Park in Volunteer Park, where our glitter-packed Tooth Fairy Wing Decorating Booth returned bigger and sparklier than ever. Families, friends, and fairy fans of all ages stopped by to decorate wings with feathers, gemstones, biodegradable glitter, and plenty of imagination.
Our Tooth Fairies kept the creativity flowing, helped little artists perfect their masterpieces, and kept our prize wheel spinning throughout the day. Before long, fairy wings could be spotted all across the park, not just on kids but on grown-ups and even a few fabulous four-legged friends.
The event was filled with joy, creativity, and connection, making it the perfect way to kick off Pride Month.
SPOKANE PRIDE
The following weekend, our celebration continued on the other side of the state at the 33rd annual Spokane Pride. We joined thousands of attendees for a day centered on celebration and inclusion. Our Spokane employees proudly marched in the parade through downtown, handing out rainbow toothbrushes while showing their support for the local LGBTQIA+ community.
Meanwhile, the Tooth Fairy Experience booth was buzzing with activity at Riverfront Park, where nearly 1,000 pairs of fairy wings were decorated with colorful feathers, glitter, and gems. Each interaction gave us another opportunity to connect with community members and celebrate together.
SEATTLE PRIDE PARADE
We closed out Pride Month by returning to Seattle for the annual Seattle Pride Parade. As proud sponsors of the parade since 2017, we were excited to once again march alongside hundreds of organizations celebrating LGBTQIA+ visibility, equality, and love.
This year's parade theme, Rally, inspired an unforgettable day filled with energy and celebration. Our team marched through downtown sharing rainbow toothbrushes with parade-goers lining Fourth Avenue. Our beloved Tooth Fairy brought smiles to children and families throughout the route, proving once again that a little magic can go a long way.
It was a joyful finale to a month dedicated to celebrating community, inclusion, and belonging.
MORE THAN JUST CELEBRATION
At Delta Dental of Washington, our mission is rooted in expanding access to oral health care for everyone. That includes creating welcoming spaces, supporting inclusive communities, and providing oral health resources that help LGBTQIA+ individuals care for their smiles with confidence.
While June gives us an opportunity to celebrate Pride together, our commitment continues all year long. Pride isn't just a celebration. It's a reminder that stronger, healthier communities are built through equity, visibility, and belonging.
