Partner Spotlight: Entre Hermanos

October 14, 2025

In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, we are spotlighting community partners who provide services to the Hispanic communities of Washington. Entre Hermanos promotes the health and well-being of the Latino Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, and questioning community in a culturally appropriate environment through disease prevention, education, support services, advocacy and community building.

Entre Hermanos offers a range of services related to HIV/AIDS prevention, care, and support; offers free immigration clinics to our LGBTQ community; and provides rental and utility case management support for individuals and families experiencing housing difficulties.

Edgar Longoria, executive director of Entre Hermanos, shares more about their great work below:

How does your organization serve the community?

Entre Hermanos is dedicated to providing direct services to the Latine LGBTQ+ community across Washington State. We offer culturally and linguistically accessible programs in health, immigration, housing, civic engagement, and community empowerment. Our goal is not only to meet urgent needs but also to create visibility for our community through safe, affirming spaces where our community can thrive.

What influenced you to start this organization?
Entre Hermanos was founded nearly 35 years ago by a group of Latine LGBTQ+ activists who recognized that our community’s specific needs were being overlooked. They wanted to build a place where people could access services in their own language, feel a sense of connection and belonging, and be seen fully for who they are. As we continue to evolve and grow, that founding vision continues to guide us today.

What are you most proud of that the organization has done?
I am especially proud of the way Entre Hermanos has become a trusted organization in Washington — providing connection, services, and chosen family for so many. From launching HIV prevention and education programs and establishing an immigration legal department, to hosting community events and forums, there are countless achievements to celebrate.

Yet our support groups hold a very special place in my heart. In 2023, we launched Monarcas, a support group for Trans Latinas, which has quickly become a source of strength for our Trans Latine community. We also convene Grupo SOMOS, a peer-led group for people living with HIV. Both groups meet bi-weekly and offer spaces of inspiration, honesty, and healing. We are proud to hold and sustain these vital community spaces.

What does it mean to your organization to have financial support from businesses like Delta Dental of Washington? How does it affect how you show up for community?
Partnerships like this are vital. They strengthen our ability to “show up” consistently and sustainably, ensuring that Latine LGBTQ+ voices are affirmed in solidarity across business, government, and social services. Such support enables us to continue offering essential services and to create impactful cultural events that reflect the richness of our heritage and the vibrancy of our community. Having the backing of businesses like Delta Dental affirms that our community matters — and that it deserves ongoing investment.

Partnering with organizations like Entre Hermanos aligns with our company’s mission to make sure no one is left behind.

Delta Dental of Washington’s mission is to help more people gain access to oral healthcare. To make sure we’re reaching as many people as possible, we are also committed to publishing ongoing guides, resources, and articles about how LGBTQIA+ people, specifically, can protect their oral health.
