Community Spotlight: Supporting Emergency Food Assistance

People and organizations across Washington state continue to feel the effects of recent federal interruptions in food assistance and other critical funding streams. Delta Dental of Washington and Arcora Foundation work closely with partner organizations on the front lines of addressing food insecurity, many of which are now experiencing significant strain due to rising demand and increasingly limited resources.

To help ease this pressure, Arcora Foundation and Delta Dental of Washington have committed $115,000 in one-time grants to support eight partner organizations serving communities throughout the state:

  • Northwest Harvest (Statewide including King, Spokane, Stevens, and Yakima counties)

 

Access to nutritious food is foundational to overall health—and oral health is no exception. A healthy mouth plays a vital role in long-term well-being, and ensuring individuals and families can obtain the foods they need is essential to that goal. We also recognize that access to food and other basic resources is becoming increasingly difficult for many of our neighbors.

Food security is inseparable from overall health. When families have reliable access to nutritious foods, they have a stronger foundation for oral and overall well-being. We are grateful for the organizations across our state who work tirelessly to make this possible and proud to stand with them during this moment of heightened need.

These grants reflect our deep appreciation for the partner organizations that continue to advance food security in their communities. They are a message of solidarity: they are not alone, and we are here to support their efforts during this challenging time so that no one is left behind.
