Finding an In-Network Dentist
Members who use an in-network dentist save money, and that’s something worth smiling about.
Whether you’re looking for a dentist close to home, great patient recommendations, or flexible office hours that work for your schedule, our Find a Dentist tool can help you find the dentist that’s right for you.
Find A Dentist
An in-network dentist simply means that your dentist is part of your dental insurance plan and they have agreed to provide you with dental care at your plan’s rate. So, if you are on a Delta Dental PPO plan, you’ll want to find a dentist who is part of the PPO network to ensure your saving as much as possible out-of-pocket.
An out-of-network dentist is not part of your insurance plan and has not agreed to pre-established rates for treatment. You may choose to see an out-of-network dentist if you wish, but you may end up paying more out-of-pocket.
One of the best ways to get the most value out of your dental coverage is to visit a dentist who participates in your plan’s dental network. We refer to these dentists as “participating” or “in-network.”
In-network dentists signs an agreement with us to:
- Provide treatment according to administrative guidelines for each plan
- Accept their contracted fees as payment in full
- Provide services at discounted rates
- File all claim forms for you
In other words: it’s easier for you and can reduce your out-of-pocket costs! What’s not to love?
If you’re new to Delta Dental, this might be the first you’ve heard about our Find A Dentist tool. It’s pretty easy to use, but in case you have any questions, check out the step-by-step below:
- Click on ‘Online Tools’ and then click our ‘Find A Dentist’ tool
- To filter your results for in-network dentists, select your network from the drop-down menu.
- To filter your results for location: Enter your location, either using your full address or zip code and the distance you’re willing to travel.
- To see more filters: Click the ‘Advanced Search’ button toward the bottom. From here, you can search for a certain dentist’s using their last name or by the name of their clinic:
(You can also filter by specialty, gender, and language spoken by choosing from the drop-down menus. Note: You do not need to fill in all filters.)
- You can also search for endorsements by filtering for the desired traits from the drop-down menu. For example, you can choose “Clean office,” “Friendly staff,” and “Great with kids:”
