Celebrate Your Child’s Smile

June 10, 2014

Celebrate your child’s smile! It’s National Children’s Day.

It’s not always easy to get children excited about oral health. Here are some tips and tricks to get them interested in healthy smile habits.

How to have fun with oral health:

Trade places: Let your child brush your teeth. It’s a great, easy way to get them interested in oral health. It’s fun for them and allows you to show them how to brush properly.

Set a timer: Brushing for two minutes can seem like an eternity when you’re young. Use a fun shaped timer or download songs from the Mighty Mouth’s brushing playlist.

It’s in the Toothbrush: The next time you’re at the store, let your child pick out a fun toothbrush and holder. You can find kids toothbrushes with their favorite characters or in their favorite colors. You can also find many kid-friendly toothbrush holders. Fun toothbrushes get kids excited about brushing.

Celebrate your child’s smile this Smile Month by teaching them the importance of good oral health. Children also need to brush for 2 minutes twice a day and see a dentist regularly. Help make it fun for a lifelong, healthy smile.
