Meet Our Board of Directors

Albrecht    Richard R. Albrecht

Mr. Richard R. Albrecht is a Senior Counsel at Perkins Coie, the largest law firm based in the Pacific Northwest. He is retired from The Boeing Company, where he served in various executive positions, including Executive Vice President-Commercial Airplane Group, with responsibility for all commercial relations with customers. He was the General Counsel for the U.S. Treasury Department and served as an Associate and Partner with Perkins Coie.

Mr. Albrecht has served on the Washington Dental Service Board of Directors since 2001 and is past Chair of the Board. In addition to participating on other committees, he serves as Chair of the Budget Committee and is a member of the Washington Dental Service Holdings Board and the Washington Dental Service Foundation Board. Mr. Albrecht has served on numerous public company boards, including Esterline Technologies Corporation, Washington Mutual and Rainier Bancorporation. His service on nonprofit boards includes Virginia Mason Medical Center, the Museum of Northwest Art, and the Pacific Legal Foundation, as well as service as a Regent of Washington State University.

Mr. Albrecht graduated with a Bachelors of Arts degree from the University of Iowa in 1958 and with a law degree in 1961.

Beck   G. Douglas Beck, DDS
   Treasurer, Board of Directors

Dr. G. Douglas Beck is a general dentist practicing in Mill Creek and is the founding partner in Wildwood Dental Group. He is involved in dental practice management consulting and has developed business technology applications for dental offices. In 1978-80, he served as Dental Clinic Director and Instructor for General Practice Residency at Methodist Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin.

Dr. Beck has served on the Washington Dental Service Board of Directors for over 10 years and is currently Treasurer of the Board. He serves on the Audit and Budget Committees and is a member of the Washington Dental Service Holdings Board and the Washington Dental Service Foundation Board. Dr. Beck has also served in a number of roles in the county and state dental associations.

Dr. Beck graduated from the University of Washington School of Dentistry in 1977 with a DDS degree and a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He completed a General Practice Residency at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1978.

Branch   David W. Branch, DDS
   Chair, Board of Directors

Dr. David W. Branch is a general dentist practicing in downtown Seattle. Dr. Branch graduated from University of Washington School of Dentistry with a DDS degree in 1973. He was a member of the Dental School Admissions Committee from 1970 through1979 and was an Assistant Operative Professor in the Restorative Department from 1974 through 1983.

Dr. Branch has served on the Washington Dental Service Board of Directors since 2005 and presently serves as Chair of the Board of Directors. In addition to his responsibilities serving as ex officio member of various committees, he serves on the Governance and Nominating and Provider Compensation Committees. He is also a member of the Board of Washington Dental Service Holdings. Dr. Branch’s volunteer activities include the Union Gospel Mission (since 1997) and a free dental clinic in Muchok, Nepal (2000).

Dineen   Patrick J. Dineen
  

Mr. Patrick J. Dineen is retired President and Manager of the Washington Commercial Banking Group for U.S. Bank of Washington. He was also a commercial lender and held several management positions at Seafirst Bank. He currently owns and manages the Dineen Family Vineyards in Yakima, Washington.

Mr. Dineen has served on the Washington Dental Service Board of Directors since 2006.  In addition to participating on other committees, he serves as Chair of the Audit Committee. He serves as the lead director of Puget Sound Bank and on the board of the Sterling Realty Organization. His extensive non-profit board experience includes participation on boards of the Corporate Council for the Arts, the Seattle Art Museum, the Pacific Coast Banking School, and the Fifth Avenue Theater.

Mr. Dineen graduated from Marquette University in Wisconsin, with Bachelor’s degree in Finance, and from the Pacific Coast Banking School at the University of Washington.

Jim Dwyer   James D. Dwyer

Mr. James D. Dwyer is President and Chief Executive Officer of Washington Dental Service and serves on the Board of the Delta Dental Plans Association. Mr. Dwyer served as the Port of Seattle’s chief executive and as president and CEO of a $30 million wholesale distribution company operating in six states. He was also a partner and director of an international commercial law for a leading Pacific Northwest law firm.

In addition to his participation on the Washington Dental Service Board of Directors, Mr. Dwyer is on the Board of Directors of OCS-Dentra, a dental analytics company which is developing a dental analytics product, and is Chairman of Healthentic, a consortium of Delta plans which is developing a disease management analytics product. He also serves on the Board of the Washington Dental Service Foundation. In addition, Mr. Dwyer has served on the Board of Trustees at Seattle University and chaired the University’s Board of Regents. He is also on the Board of the Center for Leadership Formation at Seattle University and served on the Board of Trustees of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center. In addition to being recognized with numerous civic awards, he also served on the Board of Directors of the 1990 Goodwill Games Organizing Committee.

Mr. Dwyer graduated from Seattle University, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in marketing and from the University of San Diego School of Law in 1972. In addition, he attended the Harvard Graduate School of Business Program for Management Development in 1979.

Greene   Roberta Jones Greene
   Vice Chair, Board of Directors

Ms. Roberta Jones Greene most recently served as Vice President of Sales Development for Empire Ford in Spokane and was a member of the Spokane City Council during 1996-2003. She has also served as an educator and worked in personnel and social service positions.

Ms. Greene has served on the Washington Dental Service Board of Directors since 2001 and is currently Vice Chair of the Board. In addition to participating on committees, she serves as Chair of the Washington Dental Service Foundation and is a member of the Washington Dental Service Holdings Board. She recently served on the Washington Learns Steering Committee and as Chair of the Higher Education Advisory Committee. Ms. Greene has extensive experience serving her community in various capacities and has received many awards, particularly in the areas of business, education, and diversity issues.

Ms. Greene graduated from Talladega College in Talladega, Alabama, with Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics in 1961; from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, with a Masters of Science in Urban Studies in 1975; and from Gonzaga University with an Honorary Doctor of Laws degree in 2005.

Heinrich   Robb B. Heinrich, DDS
 
Dr. Robb B. Heinrich is a general practitioner in Spokane. In 1994, he served as a restorative clinical instructor for the Eastern Washington University Hygiene School.

Dr. Heinrich has served on the Washington Dental Service Board of Directors since 2003. In addition to participating on several committees, he serves as chair of the Governance and Nominating Committee and on the Washington Dental Service Holdings Board. Dr. Heinrich has also participated in a number of professional organizations and study clubs pertaining to organized dentistry. He has served as a Hygiene School Advisory Board member for the Eastern Washington University since 1999 and as a volunteer for the Spokane Low Income Clinic at Spokane Falls Community College and the North of the Narrows Volunteer Fire Department.

Dr. Heinrich graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree in Zoology from the University of Washington in 1989; with his DDS degree from the University of Washington School of Dentistry in 1993; and completed an oral surgery externship at the University of Leeds in Leeds, England, in 1992.

Henricksen   John M. Henricksen, DDS
  

Dr. John M. Henricksen is a general dentist practicing in Chehalis.

Dr. Henricksen has served on the Washington Dental Service Board of Directors since 2003. He serves on the Governance and Nominating and Human Resources and Compensation Committees and on the Member Advisory Panel. Dr. Henricksen has also served in a number of professional organizations and has volunteered in church and civic capacities. He highly values his volunteer work, including: helped to provide a handicapped-equipped bus for special education school in La Barca, Mexico; provided dental care to orphanages and established groundwork for the first dental assisting school in China; provided dental surgery to youth in remote Western Honduras; worked with an international project to provide an apartment for youths with mentally disabilities to learn independent living skills in LaBarca, Mexico; helped to remodel a shelter for homeless children in LaBarca, Mexico.

Dr. Henricksen received his graduate degree from the University of Washington and his DDS degree from the University of Washington School of Dentistry in 1970. He also completed a dental internship while in the U.S. Air Force in 1970-1971 and served in the U.S. Air Force in 1970-1973.

Johnson   Christine M. Johnson, DDS

Dr. Christine Johnson is a general dentist practicing in Sedro Woolley. She has also served as a clinical professor in the Prosthodontics Department at University of Washington since 1988.

Dr. Johnson has served on the Washington Dental Service Board of Directors since 2006. In addition to participating on other committees, she serves as chair of the Washington Dental Service Member Advisory Panel. Dr. Johnson has also served in a number of professional organizations and is Past President of her local dental society. She is active in her community, including activities with the service group, Soroptimist International of Sedro Woolley, her church, and elementary education.

Dr. Johnson received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of St. Benedict, St. Joseph, Minnesota in 1983, and her DDS degree with honors from the University of Washington School of Dentistry in 1988.

Lohkamp  Joanna L. Lohkamp

Ms. Joanna L. Lohkamp is the owner and principal consultant for Sound Business Solutions, Inc. with expertise in strategic and execution planning, business and financial advisory, organizational leadership development, management and team assessment, leadership coaching, and interim executive leadership. She was previously General Manager and Chief Operating Officer of Isonics Vancouver, Inc. and prior to that served in various executive positions at Intel Corporation. 

Ms. Lohkamp is a newly elected member of the Washington Dental Service Board of Directors. She participates on the Audit, Governance and Nominating, Human Resources and Compensation, and Budget Committees. Ms. Lohkamp also participates on the board of the YWCA-Pierce County where she served as Treasurer.

Ms. Lohkamp graduated from Stanford University with a Bachelors of Arts in International Relations and from the Haas School at the University of California, Berkeley with a Masters in Business Administration.

Neal   Jack E. Neal, DDS 
   Secretary, Board of Directors

Dr. Jack E. Neal is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon and practices in Seattle and Kirkland.

Dr. Neal’s education includes a B.S. from Furman University, a DDS degree from the University of Maryland, and an M.S. for research and specialty certification in oral and maxillofacial surgery from the University of Iowa.

Dr. Neal has served on the Washington Dental Service Board of Directors since 2006 and is currently Secretary of the Board. He serves on the Governance and Nominating, Human Resources and Compensation, and Budget Committees. He has been a leader in a number of professional organizations pertaining to his specialty of oral and maxillofacial surgery on a national, regional and local level. Dr. Neal has also participated in dental organizations in Seattle and Washington State. He has served on the board of trustees for two private schools, and has been active in Rotary International and the Broadmoor Golf Club. He has been an affiliate faculty member for ACLS for the American Heart Association of Washington and taught courses for a number of organizations.

Phipps   Gerald S. Phipps, DMD, MS

Dr. Gerald S. Phipps is an orthodontist practicing in Spokane. In 1978-85, he served as Dental Officer in the United States Public Health Service.

Dr. Phipps was recently elected to the Washington Dental Service Board of Directors and has served on the Washington Dental Service Foundation since 2004. He currently serves on the Budget Committee, the Governance and Nominating Committee and the Member Advisory Panel. Dr. Phipps has also served in a number of roles in professional associations, including the Washington State Dental Association where he served on the Board of Directors and as Editor.

Dr. Phipps graduated from the Washington University School of Dentistry, St. Louis, Missouri in 1978 with a DMD degree. He completed a general practice residency at Gallup Indian Medical Center in 1984 and completed an orthodontic residency at Washington University in 1987 where he received his M.S. in orthodontics.

Puckett   Allen W. Puckett

Mr. Allen W. Puckett has co-founded and held senior management positions (including CEO) in a number of privately held health care services and information technology businesses since 1993. His most recent company, Topline Solutions Inc., was acquired by a NaviMedix in 2008. He previously held senior executive positions with a number of public companies and provided top-level consulting services to companies around the world as an associate and partner with McKinsey & Company.

Mr. Puckett has served on the Washington Dental Service Board of Directors since 2002. In addition to participating on other committees, he currently serves as chair of the Investment Committee. He has previously served on boards of a number of for-profit companies as well as the board of Family Services of King County.

Mr. Puckett received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California, Berkeley. He received his law degree from Harvard Law School, where he received a national Nathan Burkan Prize for his thesis on legal protection for computer software.

Schweikhardt   R. Gary Schweikhardt
  

Mr. Gary Schweikhardt is the President & CEO of Washington Biotechnology Funding, Inc. (WBF), a venture capital fund, and retired CEO of Epigenomics, Inc. a biotechnology company. He has co-founded and managed more than a dozen technology-based companies and has served as an executive of The Boeing Company.

Mr. Schweikhardt has served on boards of various professional and civic organizations, including the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and several boards and visiting committees at the University of Washington. He has been an invited speaker and author for educational and science-related organizations.

Mr. Schweikhardt has served on the Washington Dental Service Board of Directors since 2001. He is past Chair of the Board and serves on the Washington Dental Service Foundation Board. In addition to serving on the Investment Committee, he also serves as chair of the Human Resources and Compensation Committee. He also serves on the Washington Dental Service Holdings Board, the Washington Dental Service Foundation Board, and the OCS-Dentra Board (a dental analytics company which is developing a dental analytics product.)

Mr. Schweikhardt received a B.S. and M.S., Mechanical Engineering from the University of Washington; a Master of Science, and an MBA from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
