2010 Mom and Me at the Zoo:
Families enjoyed visiting the WDS booth at Woodland Park Zoo’s 20th anniversary “Mom & Me at the Zoo” event.
Moms, dads and kids spun the wheel and answered questions on positive habits for good oral hygiene. The children’s toothbrush giveaway was just as big a hit as the giant Delta Dental toothbrush.

2010 Diabetes Expo:
“Kids” of all ages had fun interacting with Washington Dental Service’s WeeCan, while volunteers educated
attendees on the importance of oral health in diabetes management. UW pre-dental student volunteers assisted
Dr. Larry Kuhl, WDS chief dental consultant, with free oral health screenings for expo attendees.

2009 Adam Morrison Golf Tournament (Spokane):

2009 American Diabetes Association "Step out for diabetes" walk:
Weecan and friends hand out information about the link between gum disease and diabetes at the 2009 "Step out for diabetes" walk at Seward Park.

2009 American Heart Association Heart Walk:
Volunteers from WDS handed out coffee and information to walkers about the link between oral health and heart health.

2009 Seafair Milk Carton Derby:
A great family event, the Milk Carton Derby was heavily attended. The Weecan loved having his picture taken with all the kids and WDS volunteers handed out coloring books promoting proper teeth brushing and good oral health to parents and children.

2009 Tour de Cure:
Participating in the 2009 Tour de Cure, WDS rode to raise awareness and support for the American Diabetes Association and to help educate people about the link between diabetes and oral health.
